Questions about Heaven, Hell and Eternity

Q: Does everyone go to Heaven?

A: No; and those that do not go to Heaven will end up in Hell, which is a real place of torment for eternity everlasting. Being a good person does not earn you any right into Heaven. Heaven is only for those who accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, for those who have believed in Him, asked for forgivenes of their sins and recognized His sacrifice on the Cross as payment for their sin.

Q: Is Heaven for all who lead a good and moral life?

A: The bible says that none is good. No one can obey all the commandments. Since everyone sins and God cannot allow sin into a perfect Heaven then no one can enter into Heaven based on being a good person. If you get to Heaven by being agood person there would have been no need of Jesus to go to the croos to pay for our sin; there would have been no purpose or reason.

Q: Is Hell anything like what a lot of people think and say?

A: Most people joke a lot about Hell, but most of us have no idea of how terrible it really is. According to Jesus, from the Bible it is a place of feeling (of pain and torment) of remembrance, of darkness, of heat and fire, and on top of all that it is permanent, forever and ever. It is a place that many will go along with the devil and his demonic and fallen angels. Consider all this torture and then to be able to see those in Heaven enjoying paradise and not being ever able to get there.

Q: Is Hell a permanent place or temporary?

A: Hell is very much permanent, there will be never no getting out and those there will live there forever. There is no purgatory or second chance to get out like some think; the Bible does not teach that. Once you leave this earth for faith of Heaven or Hell is set. The only escape is to repent of your sin while you are still alive.

Q: Can someone loose their salvation and still end up in Hell?

A: Once a person is truly saved you cannot ever loose their salvation. Now there are some that may think they are saved but were never saved to begin with and that is a different story. The bible supports 'once saved always saved'; for those that believe they can become unsaved, live under an unnessessary burden of wondering if they are saved on any given day. It is great to know that once you are saved you will end up in Heaven and never see Hell.

Q: Can anything be done to get another out of Hell once there?

A: It is clear from the Bible that you are responsible for yourself for your own salvation; no one else can do anything to save you other than be a witness to them and share the gospel with them. Once someone dies their faith is set, no one else and pray, buy or anything else to get that person out of hell for another chance.

Q: What about pictures of the Devil in a red suit and a pitchfork?

A: These images have been brought up over the years but are not based on any biblical evidence. We should not add anything about Hell other than what we can base on what scripture tells us. Though these 'images of man' may not be accurate, we should not discount to horror of Hell and for those who will be there. It is not wise for anyone to downplay what Hell will be like; because it will be to late after you die and are there with no escape.
