Why should I believe in Jesus Christ?
Because what you believe in has a profound implication on my life, both here and after I leave this earth.
You can take the road that is broad and full of temporary happiness or you can experience the supernatural and eternal love that is of God.
You can become part of God's family and have eternal life in Heaven or you can continue to reject Him and end up in an awful place the Bible calls hell.
True happiness is only experienced with having a relationship with Him; one that will last forever. You can live out your days here on this earth, live from day to day, even appear to have some form of happiness; but something will be still missing.
The implications of not believing in Jesus Christ.
Without God in your life there is no lasting peace and joy and as the years pass by. Some reach out to the bottle, drugs, gambling, sex, etc., but with no true peace. Others reach out for religion, cults, or new age spiritual experiences and get caught up into a trap of false hopes and dreams.
Jesus said in Matthew 7 21~23 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? "And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!
Many will be surprised when they find they are not getting into Heaven, but will find themselves cast into Hell. No one need to find themselves heading for Hell; but because of our own rejection of Him as found in the bible we send ourselves there.
All other religions make promises of Heaven by something that you do, joining a Church, baptism, doing good things, etc; but Jesus says that you need only believe in what He has done for you on the cross, dying for you a sinner, accepting this and asking him for forgiveness of your sin; and then you will have eternal life.John 3:36 says, "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
The Bible tells us of those who have excuses for not accepting Jesus Christ; many who are on the wide road of destruction and don't even recognize it; only to live out their lives and end up in Hell. The Bible says there will be many who will not want anything to do with Jesus and totally reject Him. Others will think because they have some superficial knowledge of Him that they will be fine. The only way to find eternal life is to accept Jesus as it says in the bible about Him. Please don't ignore Him any longer.
A true relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is the only way to experience joy in this world and also in eternal and never ending future to come. If you have been searching for purpose and not finding; or someone who is resting in false notions you seriously need to evaluate the road you are on.
The salvation of God delivers you from eternal death and hell, and gives you the present possessions of eternal life, forgiveness of all your sins, and the sure hope of being in heaven with Him forever.
God hates sin, but He loves the sinner. The price for God's forgiveness is high, but He paid the price Himself.
A believer receives God's forgiveness when he repents of sin and places his faith in Jesus Christ for salvation -- all of his sins are forgiven forever. That includes past, present and future, big or small. Jesus died to pay the penalty for all of our sins, and once they are forgiven, they are all forgiven.
